TVR Griffith 500 “Body off Chassis Restored”
For sale at £32,000
Str8six are proud to offer this beautifully presented Griffith 500 which has had only two owners from new, the last having owned it for 26 years. Shortly after purchasing the car in 1999 at 32,000 miles the engine suffered an issue and it was fully rebuilt by TVR Power with a customer contribution of £3,000 after some haggling with Peter Wheelers No.2 (Ben Samuelson).
Fast forward to 2015 and it was decided that this much lover car was getting a little tired and would benefit from some TLC.
The Griffith was taken to our Nottingham branch for a full body off chassis refurbishment. This includes new outriggers and various improvements, please see below for description of works carried out:
Remove & replace outriggers.
Fabricate and fit steel seat mounts.
Shotblast and 3 stage powder coat process to all chassis and suspension components.
2 x Lower front wishbones.
2 x Front upper wishbones.
Full Powerflex bush kit.
Front and rear brake discs and pads.
Braided brake hose kit.
ARB droplinks.
Lower front balljoints.
Upper front balljoints.
Track rod ends.
Diff bushes.
Manifold gaskets.
Rocker cover gaskets.
Valley gasket and seals.
Swirl pot.
Expansion tank.
Wheel bearings.
Engine mounts.
Rack gaiters.
Set of Nitron Dampers and Suplex road springs.
12,000 mile service.
The engine was partially stripped to check the condition of the camshaft which was found to be as new. The battery was also re-located behind the passenger seat allowing more room in the footwell.
Once re-assembled the car was then taken for a full respray in its original Silhouette Blue and a new set of carpets.
All of this work was carried out in 2015 at 63,779 miles.
This car will be supplied with Str8six's "all the 12s" 12,000 mile service, 12 months MOT, 12 months warranty and 6 months TAX. We will also carry out a full Optiline 4 wheel alignment and fit the car with a hard wired in trickle charger.
